Vom 8. -13.5.2023 und vom 15-19.5.2023 // Proben

Das Ensemble BRuCH widmet sich seit der Gründung 2013 der Interpretation zeitgenössischer Werke und entwickelt Kompositionen in enger Zusammenarbeit mit jungen Komponist*innen. Das Quartett legt dabei den Fokus auf die Erweiterung des Repertoires für die ungewöhnliche Besetzung mit Stimme, Flöte, Cello und Klavier wie auch auf die Erarbeitung interdisziplinärer Programme. Im Mai 2023 erarbeitete das Ensemble eine Woche bei uns im o-ton THEaLOGY, eine Musiktheater-Performance mit Musik von Huihui Cheng in einer Inszenierung von Kapitolina Tsvetkova.

In Thealogy beobachten vier Göttinnen in ihrem Thearium. Sie erschaffen und zerstören: zeitlos, endlos, gewissenlos. Mit Huihui Chengs Kompositionen und Kapitolina Tsvetkovas Installation und Regie erschafft das Ensemble einen Raum, in dem die Gesetze des Menschen keine Gültigkeit haben. Verwirrend und Anziehend zugleich.

Director Kapitolina Tcvetkova staged a week with the Ensemble Bruch at the o-ton

In “THEaLOGY” director Kapitolina Tcvetkova creates a divine „vivarium“ with four goddesses. She creates a gentle, situational, non-linearly narrated utopia; a voyeuristic mapping of the lives of four goddess-sisters. They communicate in an auxiliary language, they inhabit their strange, divine lives within a logic known only to them, telling the story of creation, artistic gesture and expression.

The combination of three works by composer Huihui Cheng gives rise to a common story linked by mythological tales: the story of Pandora and Hermes the messenger. These myths are primarily attractive due to their mirroring of contemporary narratives, however in “THEaLOGY” they become especially fascinating when working with the all-female musical ensemble BRuCH. The distinctive approach here presents the primal deities, or „former deities“ as Herod called them, as Titans, because they were the ones who held the first creative gesture, symbolising the first artistic, creative creation.
